Six years handling consumer complaints in Austin, a fair share of them about gambling. The job was mostly reading a contract after somebody had already signed it and explaining, gently, that the clause they were angry about was one they had agreed to. It is a bleak education and it changed how I read every offer I see.

So that is the angle I bring. I open accounts with my own money, save the terms before I accept anything, play the offer down and withdraw — and I write about what your position would be if it had gone wrong, because on an unlicensed site that position is much weaker than most pages admit.

No comped balances, no operator credit, no paid placement in the order. This site earns commission when a reader registers through a link here, disclosed at the foot of every page, and it has never moved a site up this list. The one I would recommend to somebody starting out is not the one that pays us best.

What I Read Before I Accept Anything

Three figures, and the percentage is not one of them. The turnover multiple. The turnover base — bonus only, or deposit plus bonus, because at the same advertised number the second asks about twice as much and both print identically. And **the maximum conversion**, the ceiling on how much of your bonus winnings can ever be withdrawn.

That third one caused more genuine anger than anything else I saw in six years of complaint work, and it was almost never a case the customer could win. The cap was in the document they accepted. Nobody had hidden it; they simply had not read it, because nobody reads a contract before a promotion looks good.

So I screenshot all three before I accept, along with the offer as the cashier displayed it. If a site will not state them anywhere findable, that absence goes in the review — on an unlicensed operator an unwritten term is a term that does not exist when you need it.

How I Run an Account

Register cold, as an ordinary reader would, with no affiliate introduction — if verification is awkward for a normal signup then that is worth reporting rather than routing around. Fund it with my own money, crypto and a conventional method where the site takes one, so the page can describe both routes.

Take whatever the cashier actually offers a logged-in new player, which is not always what the marketing page promised; where they differ, the cashier is what I publish. Clear the turnover at stakes an ordinary person would choose, because the question is whether they could finish it. Then withdraw, and time it from request to funds arriving, document check included.

Where the balance allows I withdraw twice. One clean payout is an anecdote. Two is a pattern, and a pattern is the only evidence available in a market with no regulator.

What I Will Not Do

No comped balances, no operator credit, no paid placement in the ordering. No star ratings, because a number out of five from one reviewer pretends to a precision that is not there. No launch dates either — this market does not disclose them reliably and a fabricated year is worse than an honest band.

And I say plainly when a site is wrong for someone, including when the reason is that you would have nowhere to turn if it went badly. A list where all fifteen are excellent was written by somebody selling something.
